“To find yourself think for yourself” Socrates
Counselling and psychotherapy Salisbury: for individuals or couples and clinical supervision
There can be much confusion around the ways we understand what people think, imagine and experience. We can imagine all kinds of things but in order to think about such experiences we need a space to share them without being labelled as mad or ill or even illegal. Context and culture are crucial to what something means. An important distinction is that between thinking/imagining and taking action, the former is not the same as the latter. Having time and space to think and talk openly does not mean a person is going to act on what is spoken, mostly the opposite is the case.
